Wayne Ashley

Wayne Ashley, tenor, earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Henderson State University and Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. He is currently an Adjunct Faculty member of Texas Southern University, cantor and soloist for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and frequent soloist with the Houston Ebony Opera Guild. Wayne has appeared in productions of Kurt Weill’s Street Scene and Handel’s Flavio with the University of Houston’s Moores Opera Center, and sang with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus for the 2009 production of Wagner’s Lohengrin. Beyond his love for classical music, Wayne has also worked extensively as a jazz and contemporary pop singer, leading the NuFusion project and Acoustic Syn during his time at Henderson. Wayne has sung with the Houston Chamber Choir since 2008.
