 Marianna Parnas-Simpson

Marianna Parnas Simpson, alto, graduated with a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the St. Petersburg Conservatory, Russia. She founded the award winning St. Petersburg Girls Choir, Kamerton, which she directed for ten years before coming to the United States. Since 1999 she has taught at Parker Elementary School, a Houston ISD magnet school for music. In 2005, she was named Teacher of the Year by her fellow teachers at Parker Elementary. She has conducted numerous children’s chorus festivals and workshops. She also directs the Treble Choir at the Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, TX. Since 2008 Ms. Simpson has served an Artistic Director of the summer program for the American Boy Choir in Princeton, NJ. Marianna is a founding member of the Houston Chamber Choir.
