Ryan Stickney, alto, a longtime Houstonian, returns to Houston this year after completing her master's degree in Contemporary Improvisation at New England Conservatory in Boston. Ryan received her bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. While at Rice, she participated in the Houston Symphony Chorus as well as the college theater scene, directing the music for several productions and writing a musical of her own. Ryan is currently a copyeditor at UniqU, an open-source-education textbook digitization company founded by a fellow Rice voice student. 2011 is Ryan’s first season with the Houston Chamber Choir.
