Few people in the classical music world become household names, but Leonard Bernstein is one of them. As conductor, educator, and composer, Bernstein left an expansive legacy. The Houston Chamber Choir pays tribute to this American genius with a program of his songs for theater, including New York, New York; Maria; The Best of All Possible Worlds; and his choral masterpiece Chichester Psalms. The evening’s master of ceremonies will be Bernstein’s daughter, Jamie, who will reminisce about her famous father’s life and her experiences growing up with him.
