BRIAN MILLER

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Biography

Brian joins the Houston Chamber Choir with over a decade of experience working and performing in the professional choral world. Having most recently served as Manager of the Houston Symphony Chorus, he is excited to continue his commitment to professional-level choral music in Houston with the Houston Chamber Choir.

Before transitioning to fine arts management, Brian had a successful career in public education where he directed two 6A Texas high school choral programs. His programs consistently earned sweepstakes awards at UIL contests and were invited to multiple invitationals in the Houston area. While teaching, Brian served as a TMEA All-State section leader, held region-level organizational positions, and sang professionally with both Cantare Houston and the Houston Men’s Choir.

Brian holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Stephen F. Austin State University where he studied with Dr. Tim King and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Southwestern University where he studied with Dr. Kenny Sheppard. During his graduate studies, he served as a graduate assistant to the choral department, undergraduate conducting instructor, and director of the SFASU Men’s Choir. A lover of the arts, Brian is deeply involved in music and continues to sing outside the office (and in the car on the way to work).

When not working in the music world, you can find Brian exploring the greater arts scene inside the loop with friends or hanging out on the couch watching movies with his wife, Melanie. He is excited to share his love of choral music with the Houston Chamber Choir and is eager to help oversee the continued success of this premiere ensemble.

Brian currently lives in Katy with Melanie and their dog, Puccini.
