Lauren suchy

Lauren Suchy is a graduate student at the University of Houston, earning her Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting under the instruction of Betsy Cook Weber and Alex Koppel. Originally from Arkansas, she obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Arkansas. She has been a choir director in both Arkansas and Kansas, most recently as the head choral director at Bonner Springs High School. Her choirs frequently performed locally in the community and received superior ratings at statewide competitions. In 2017, she was chosen as a semifinalist in the SWACDA Undergraduate Conducting Competition. Lauren works as the assistant conductor of the Mercury Chamber Orchestra in Houston. As a performer, Lauren has sung with the Houston Symphony Chorus, the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas Singers, the University of Arkansas Schola Cantorum, and the University of Arkansas Inspirational Chorale. Additionally, she was selected to perform in the American Choral Directors Association National Collegiate Honor Choir in 2017 as well as the Arkansas Choral Directors Association Collegiate Honor Choir in 2016.
