Trinity Lutheran Church (Downtown), 2:30PM

Betsy Cook Weber, conductor

with members of the Mercury Chamber Orchestra

Trinity Lutheran is our administrative and rehearsal home, and we are very pleased to perform music from the Lutheran tradition in its sublime acoustic. The centerpiece of the concert is Lutheran composer Dietrich Buxtehude’s 1680 "Membra Jesu nostri", a cycle of seven sacred cantatas, each of which venerates a different part of the crucified Christ’s body. We are pleased to collaborate on this historic work, considered the first German oratorio, with players from Mercury chamber orchestra, one of our city’s early music ensembles.
