Amy Kerswell
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Amy Kerswell graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from St. Olaf College, where she studied voice and sang in the St. Olaf Choir. She previously taught General Music in the Pasadena district in Houston, as well as the St. Paul’s Public School district in Minnesota. In addition to teaching, Amy was the Youth Director of Music at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lakeville, Minnesota, where she worked with singers ranging from grades PreK-12.
Amy has been a member of the Houston Chamber Choir since 2022. Amy sings with the Houston Bach Society, Cor Mundi, and has performed in projects throughout the Houston community. In Houston, she previously held staff singer positions at St. John the Divine and St. Paul’s United Methodist. Before moving to Texas, she performed with The Singers—Minnesota Choral Artists and Magnum Chorum.
Amy currently teaches music at the Lower School at Saint Thomas Episcopal School in Meyerland and serves as Director of Children’s Music at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Rice Village. Amy is finishing her Master’s degree of Sacred Music at the University of St. Thomas, Houston.
