Chelsea berner

Chelsea Berner-Taylor is an active choral singer, conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and teacher. With degrees in Music Education and Choral Conducting from Baylor University and Michigan State University, respectively, she has served as Head Choir Director at Ridge Point High School since 2018.  Under her direction, Ridge Point Choirs performed at the 2026 Southwest ACDA Convention and have enjoyed numerous collaborative opportunities within the Houston artistic community, including performing for the mayor of Houston during the 2021 city commemoration of the life of George Floyd. This season, the choir will be featured at the Houston theatre Stage’s production of Signing the Song.  Ridge Point Choirs consistently receive UIL Sweepstakes honors and Performance of Distinction at the Chamber Choir & Madrigal Festival competitions in Texas.  In 2018, she was selected as conductor at Yale’s prestigious Norfolk Conducting Workshop. Chelsea is a founding member of mirabai, under the direction of Sandra Snow, has been honored to perform with the Houston Chamber Choir and Mercury Singers over the past several years, and sings on the staff at Christ Church Cathedral.  She is thrilled to serve as Conducting Fellow to the Houston Chamber Choir’s Season Opening Night.
