Mark Edenfield feels fortunate to be able to participate in a variety of aspects in Houston’s musical community. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Houston and a Master of Music in organ performance from Indiana University, where he minored in choral conducting. As an instrumental music educator, Mr. Edenfield has enjoyed a fulfilling career in instrumental music education throughout the Houston area and now has a bustling schedule as a clinician and consultant throughout the greater Houston area.
As a classically trained singer, Mr. Edenfield is thrilled to be able to continue his love of singing and great choral music by performing for the past four decades as a chorus member, soloist, and in chorus preparation with the Mercury Singers, Houston Chamber Choir, Houston Ballet, J.S. Bach Society, Concert Chorale of Houston, Chorus Angelorum, and in particular (from 1985 to 2005) as a staff singer in the magnificent choir of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, under the direction of Robert Brewer and Frances Anderson, who were his most significant pedagogues in molding his career as a classic singer.
