Mary Grasso is a music educator and avid performer, currently serving as a staff soprano at Trinity Episcopal Church in her hometown of Galveston. Within genres ranging from classical, barbershop, pop, and jazz, Mary has performed professionally with Purgatory Creek Chorale, BRACE New Music Choir, and A Cappella Unlimited Chorus. She has also performed in several world premieres of new works, including “World of Newfound Hope” by Carolyn Trowbridge, and as the soloist in “O Sternenfall” by Dr. David Walters.
Mary received her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University, where she studied conducting under Dr. Alissa Rowe. During her studies, Mary served as an assistant conductor for the LSU A Cappella Choir and as a Sacred Music Intern at Broadmoor Baptist Church. Mary received her Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Music Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where she performed as a soloist with the UT Concert Chorale, UT Chamber Singers, Ensemble 109, and Amphion Youth Choir.
Having previously taught high school choir in the Greater Austin area, Mary currently serves as the Head Choir Director at Bayside Intermediate School in League City, where her ensembles have received consistent Sweepstakes awards.
